This past December, paddlers from all over the globe congregated on the White Nile for the unique Nile River Festival. There was the usual carnage in the form of the 'boda-boda' race (which involves racing down the Silverback section then jumping on mopeds back to the NRE bar), a mass paddle down the 40kms or so to the Hairy Lemon island and then a freestyle competition.
I was stoked to not only win the women's freestyle competition, but to also win the Ben Holland memorial photo competition and $200! Here's my winning photo (all photos massively downsized to cope with Ugandan internet, sorry!)
