Live from Canada

I'm back in Canada, it's a little colder and snowier than I'm used to, but it's good to be here. I'm judging at the up and coming 2007 World Freestyle Kayaking Championships and hopefully should get a chance to get on the water as well. While I'm here, I'll be reporting on all the action for the GB team on www.ukfreestyle.com, check it out for my first update. There'll be more in the next few days, then hopefully daily posts when the event kicks off.

Bank Holiday Hurley

Here's a short video from yesterday. I spent the day in the sunshine boating at Hurley weir. The level was a sweet three gates, amazing considering the lack of rain in the past week, the lock keeper is doing a great job for us this season. Tim Ripper was down there with his brother, Chris. Thanks to them for these photos and thanks to Jon Best for the video editing lesson. Enjoy.

National Student Rodeo 2007

Last month, university students from all over the UK headed to Nottingham for a weekend of boating, booze and banter.

With it's rodeo theme, the girls and guys of Leeds Uni did an awesome job of making this year's National Student Rodeo one of the best ever.

I looped my way into second place in the ladies expert class

Level 6 UK team representing at the rodeo, with Tom Laws and Dave Fairweather finishing second and first in the Squirt category respectively

Me with my good friend and ladies expert winner, Lowri Davies at the party in our wild west outfits

A big thank you to Sara, Adam and all the helpers
